Midge Decter comes to the defence of Sarah Palin. I don't really know what induced me to read right to the end of her Standpoint essay. I suppose I just wanted to see how she would brazen her way through the full 3,000 words.
And so on. Decter would have us believe that Palin was a victim of feminist hysteria and left-wing smears. The fact that commentators as intelligent as David Frum had major reservations clearly doesn't count for anything.She is young, handsome, clever, firmly married, a mother, a serious Christian, a right-to-lifer, who has been successful at virtually everything (including a beauty pageant) to which she has turned a hand or mind or body.
